Richard Ingersoll

Richard Ingersoll teaches courses in theory and history of architecture at Syracuse University in Florence and at the Politecnico di Milano. He formerly was Associate Professor at Rice University and Visiting Professor at ETH Zurich, Università di Ferrara, and UNav Pamplona. He was founding editor of Design Book Review and author of Sprawltown, Looking for the City on Its Edges (Princeton AP 2006), and of World Architecture. A Cross-Cultural History (with Spiro Kostof, Oxford UP, 2012). Ingersoll received his PhD from the University of California at Berkeley, under the direction of Spiro Kostof.
