Andrea Mecacci teaches Aesthetics at the University of Florence, School of Architecture. His current research focuses on the aestheticization of contemporaneity and on operating categories such as pop and kitsch. This is reflected in the books Introduzione a Andy Warhol (Laterza, 2008), L’estetica del pop (Donzelli 2011), Il kitsch (il Mulino, 2014), in the contribution to the book Andy Warhol (Marcos y Marcos, 2012), and in the edition of the Italian version of Like a Rolling Stone by Greil Marcus (Donzelli, 2005) and America by Andy Warhol (Donzelli 2009). He is also the author of several essays on German aesthetics and of the books Hölderlin e i greci (Pendragon, 2002), La mimesis del possibile. Approssimazioni a Hölderlin (Pendragon, 2006), Estetica e design (il Mulino, 2012).
